TExES Information

What are the TExES Exams?

The TExES exams (Texas Examinations of Educator Standards) are a series of exams offered in the state of Texas which prospective teachers may need to pass in order to earn their credentials. The TExES exams are designed to assess prospective teachers' mastery of their subject areas as well as the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) to ensure that they meet the minimum professional/content knowledge requirements to succeed in entry-level teaching positions in Texas schools. The exams span a wide range of subject areas, and the specific exams a prospective teacher needs to take will vary based on the grade level(s) and subject area(s) they hope to teach.
