GACE Test Dates

What Is the GACE Test?

GACE (Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators) exams are the official teacher certification tests used in the state of Georgia. Anyone who wants to become a teacher in Georgia must take - and pass - the GACE test for their subject. We'll go through all the details you need to know in this article!

How to Register for the GACE Test

The GACE registration may sound complex, but it's rather straightforward. There are only a few steps you'll need to follow. Here's your step-by-step guide to registering for the GACE exam.

  1. Create an account with MyPSC on the GaPSC website. You also need to create an ETS GACE testing account.
  2. Login to your GACE account.
  3. Select "Register for a Test" and confirm that your personal information is correct.
  4. Choose the exam(s) you wish to take.
  5. Choose a testing location and an available time from the list of GA GACE test dates.
  6. Choose your score recipient(s).
  7. Confirm your order and fill out your payment information.
  8. You're done! All that's left to do is print the admission ticket and start preparing for your GACE exam.

For candidates who don't want to register online, or who lack access to a reliable internet connection, there's also the option to register by phone. Candidates registering by phone must call 1-855-225-7178 (if in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, or Canada) or 1-609-359-5161 (if in any other part of the world). The phone lines are open Monday - Friday from 8am to 5pm Eastern Time, excluding holidays.

GACE Exam Fees

To take any GACE test, you'll need to pay the exam fee. This table shows you the GACE test cost of each category.

Exam Type Fee
American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) $165
Program Admission (combined test) $128
Program Admission (any two tests) $103
Program Admission (single test) $78

Additionally, test centers can assess a $20 proctor fee on exam day. To prepare for this possibility, candidates should bring $20 in cash with them, as this fee can only be paid in cash and will be due upon entry to the test site.

GACE Test Dates

The GACE schedule is divided into "testing windows." These GACE testing windows are roughly 10 days long and are distributed around the year. Some remaining GA GACE test dates in 2022 include:

GACE Exam Testing Centers

GACE test centers are locations that have been approved for testing by ETS and the GaPSC. There are many sites across Georgia and the United States.

Some testing site examples include:

  • Athens - University of Georgia
  • University of North Georgia
  • Atlanta - Piedmont Avenue
  • Augusta - Perimeter Parkway
  • Valdosta State University
  • Manhattan - New York/Financial District (New York, NY)
  • Chicago MegaCenter 3 (Chicago, IL)
  • Los Angeles - Glendale (Los Angeles, CA)
