The United States is losing teachers at a record pace and many areas have extreme teacher shortages -- especially in diverse and underprivileged communities. In May 2021 there were 334,000 job openings in state and local education, the highest since the BLS started collecting this data in 2000. We hope to do our part to correct this trend and make sure every aspiring educator gets certified and has the opportunity to make a difference with those students that need them the most.

Meet A Few Of Our Expert Contributors
Jenna Feldman
Jenna Feldman has been a High School Mathematics teacher for ten years, working with students in courses including Algebra, Algebra 2, Precalculus, Geometry, Statistics, and Calculus. She has a bachelor's degree in mathematics from the University of Delaware and a Master of Education degree from Wesley College. Jenna has passed the Praxis Core Academic Skills for reading, writing, and math, as well as the Praxis Mathematics Content Knowledge.

Daniel Bal
Daniel holds an M.S. Ed. in Secondary English Education from Duquesne University as well as a B.A. in English and Philosophy from Penn State University. He spent over a decade as a high school English teacher where he worked with special education and advanced placement students. As an educator, Daniel developed and executed curriculum that revolved around the creative process and the practical application of reading and writing. He continues to focus on helping the educational community by working as a content developer and academic researcher.

Elizabeth Schap
Elizabeth Schap has taught high school biology, environmental science, chemistry and research at various ability levels for over 16 years. She has a Master's in Secondary Science Education from Towson University and a BA with a double concentration in Biology and Communication Arts from Notre Dame of Maryland University and passed the Praxis in Science. She also has written lesson plans for Scholastic Inc and curricula for National Aquarium in Baltimore and has been an AP Environmental Science Reader for over 6 years.

Britanny Allen
Brittany Allen has taken and passed the FTCE exam. She previously worked as an adjunct professor in higher education and as a 5th grade public school teacher. Brittany currently works managing content and curriculum for an education technology company.

Amanda Carpenter
Amanda is an ESL teacher with 18 years of teaching experience. She has a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction and holds a K-6th teaching license from the state of Alabama. She has taken the Praxis II and the GACE.
